HEAD COACH AMANDA CROCKETT

Amanda Crockett enters her 14th year as head coach of the North Park women’s basketball program for the 2021-22 season.

The program has seen great improvement during Crockett’s tenure at North Park. The Vikings have earned double-digit wins in 10 of her 13 seasons at the helm and two student-athletes have earned D3Hoops.com All-Central Region honors. Numerous records have been broken under Crockett’s coaching including most points in a game (134 v. Knox College Nov. 16, 2013), fewest points allowed (29 v. IIT Nov. 26, 2013) rebounds in a game (72 v. North Central Feb. 8, 2014), most three-point field goals made (13 v. IIT Nov. 26, 2013), most assists in a game (28 v. Knox College Nov. 16, 2013) and field goals made in a game (54 v. Knox College Nov. 16, 2014).

Prior to North Park, Crockett served as an assistant coach for the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) women’s basketball program from 2004-08.  While at UIC, the team broke the school record for consecutive wins in a season and reached the post-season to the WNIT in 2006-07.

Crockett had prolific playing careers at Northern Illinois University (NIU) and Beavercreek (Ohio) High School. At NIU, Crockett was a three-time Team Captain for the Huskies and earned MVP honors in 1997.  Crockett still holds the NIU record for the most 10-assist games in a career with five. Crockett also ranks 3rd in all time assists, 5th in free throws made, 8th in steals, and 18th in scoring (1,147).  At Beavercreek High School Crockett led the team to a 1995 State Championship and earned Miss Ohio Basketball in the same season. She continues to give back to her hometown, as she and her high school coach continue to hold the annual Amanda Crockett and Ed Zink Basketball Camp since 2000.  In 2000 Crockett earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from NIU and a Masters in Educational Leadership from UIC in 2008.

Amanda and her husband, Steve, reside in Evanston with their two sons.
